Burping is a technique by which you let out air from your baby's stomach and thereby releasing the pressure. Burping is important after every feed. The following video should give you an idea of the correct technique for burping.

1. The thick yellowish first milk (colostrum) is dirty milk and should not be given - This is a MYTH.  The first milk is very healthy and has important nutrients and SHOULD NOT BE DISCARDED.

 

Introducing foods to your baby (Weaning)

Weaning is the transition from breast feeding to other foods. It is an extremely important phase during the 6th month of parenthood. Upto 6 months, breast milk is sufficient for all the nutritive needs of the baby. However beyond 6 months, breast milk is not sufficient, however it should not be stopped either. Breast milk has to be supplemented with other foods.
